Find your Zen at Hermann Hill!

Zen WinnerZen Gardens have been part of the Japanese culture for centuries.  They represent self-examination, enlightenment and create an environment for meditation and expression of thought.  We now have small Zen Gardens in all twenty of our Hermann Hill Vineyard Inn & Spa suites and cottages for our guests to create their own Zen masterpiece! We ask guests to send us a picture of their Zen masterpiece and what it represents and each month we pick one winner to receive a $50 Hermann Hill gift certificate and their own personal Zen garden.  Read what Jeff and Holly from Saint Peters, Missouri shared.

The rock represents the land of earth.  The waves around the rock remind us that life can move us as the wind Carries the sails of our ship.  The yin/yang reminds us to keep all things balanced.  The turtle shape on the right represents the ocean, without which life on earth would not be possible.  The shape also represents the sun, which is situated perfectly to sustain life on our planet.  The rakes remind us that there is a greater being who has created the beauty on earth.
